Corporates
The first step for providing any insurance cover for Iranian exporters is conducting a detailed assessment of the buyers' credit standing. Such an assessment is fulfilled through EGFI’s relationship with international credit rating agencies with whom the Fund has bilateral agreements or case by case enquiries to buy sound and trustworthy credit reports and gather credit data.
In the last few years, Export Guarantee Fund of Iran, has provided access to the credit information of foreign buyers through its connections with peer ECA’s and a good number of credit rating agencies as well as making use of the pool of data from AMAN Union database and other sources of Information. By analyzing the received credit reports, and financial data the Fund determines the credit rating and the credit ceiling for foreign buyers/employers based of the application of the Iranian exporters/contractors. By carrying out the credit assessment of foreign buyers via checking out their debt repayment record and assessing their payment ability backed by their financials, assets, capital, and their financial ratios like current ratio and debt ratio, the Fund sets the credit limits, and their protracted default probability based on which issuing various types of short-term insurance policies (namely specific, techno-engineering, discounting of export bills, and whole- turn-over) can be made by the Fund.
This process naturally takes around 10 working days and a range of 80 to about 220 Euros are charged from the applicant. The Fund has a separate section working under the supervision of its short term insurance department to implement the corporate credit worthiness assessment.
The credits set for corporates are valid for six months and can be utilized by the exporters during their validity period.
A major part of this process is accomplished in an on-line bases and the process starts with downloading the form of credit assessment of the foreign buyers/employers and by filling out the said form and sending the form to the following address the process starts:
